English: The Crown of India was a four-masted iron barque built in 1885 by Ramage & Ferguson, Leith for Robertson, Cruickshank & co., Liverpool. Her dimensions were: length × beam × depth = 276.6 × 41.3 × 24.1 ft (84.3 × 12.6 × 7.3 m) and she had a tonnage of 2056 GRT and 1975 NRT. In 1915 she sunk by the German submarine U 35 70 miles NW of St Ann's Head after having left Barry for Pernambuco with a cargo of coal. [1]
