Note:

  • Balashikha urban district and Domodedovo urban district are technically incorporated as urban districts and are listed separately in Category:Cities of Moscow Oblast under direct regional administration. In practical use, these successors to former Balashikhinsky District and Domodedovsky District are ordinary districts.
  • The cities of Kolomna, Orekhovo-Zuevo, Podolsk, Serpukhov are incorporated as district-level administrative entities that do not belong to, respectively, Kolomensky, Orekhovo-Zuevsky, Podolsky and Serpukhovsky. For the purpose of by district classification they are (for now) placed here.
