English: The Eifel aqueduct was one of the longest aqueducts of the Roman Empire. The aqueduct is considered as one of the biggest Roman engineering constructions north of Alps. The aqueduct, constructed in AD 80, carried water some 111 kilometres (69 mi) from the hilly Eifel region of what is now Germany to the ancient city of Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium (present-day Cologne). In parallel to the aqueduct there is a hiking road - Römerkanal Wanderweg, leading from Nettersheim to Köln - it is 95 km long.
