English: Everett Dirksen (January 4, 1896 – September 7, 1969) was a Republican politician from Illinois. He served as a Member of the United States House of Representatives from 1933-1947 and a United States Senator from 1950–1969. The Dirksen Federal Building in Chicago and Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C., are named after him.
