In Morocco, floods seem to follow a natural cycle of 10 to 14 years (the 2 times 7 years already described in the Bible and in the Coran in the chapter of the patriarch Joseph).

Last generalised floods :

  • 1985-1986
  • 2008-2009

There seem to also be a supercycle of 40 to 50 ans. It was measured from the maximum level of the non permanent lake of "Warar" (see : Doukkala) by an inhabitant of a adjacent village. Last high levels where in 1915-1916, 1966-1967, 2008-2009.
