Deutsch: Font (ältere Schreibweise fount, von engl. to found „gießen“) ist im traditionellen Buchdruck der englische Ausdruck für Schriftguss, das heißt für den kompletten Satz eines Schriftschnittes von bestimmter Schriftgröße (Kegel), Gesamtgewicht und Zusammensetzung.^[1]^[2] In der digitalen Typographie ist Font die Bezeichnung für die Datei einer digitalisierten Schriftart, bei welcher die Schriftgröße meist keine Rolle spielt und die je nach Dateityp mehrere Schriftschnitte enthalten kann.

English: In traditional printing a font (brit.: fount) is the whole number of letters that are cast of the same typeface and body.^[1] In modern digital typography the term (i.e.: computer font) stands for the file of a digitized typeface.
