English: The Forth Bridge is a cantilever, railway bridge over the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland and 14 km (9 miles) west of central Edinburgh. It is often called the "Forth Rail Bridge" to distinguish it from the Forth Road Bridge It is a Historic Scotland Category A listed building - formal title "FORTH BRIDGE" and is dual listed between the City of Edinburgh council area (ref 40370) and Inverkeithing parish, Fife Council (ref 9977) area. The approach viaducts within Fife are similarly listed Category B in Inverkeithing parish. The adjacent road bridge is also Category A listed and similarly has dual listing status in Edinburgh and Fife council areas.
