- Differentiation with similar species:
- Crossocheilus siamensis: The longitudinal band comes until the end of the caudal fin, but in the fin the band decrease in width as comes at the end of the fin.
- Epalzeorhynchos kalopterus: The longitudinal band comes until the end of the caudal fin; in body and fin, the width is the same.
- Garra cambodgiensis: The longitudinal band ends at the beginnig of the caudal fin, in the peduncle.
