English: Dedicated on 31 October 2010 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Banting's idea that led to the discovery of insulin. The base is tree-like, supporting a metal globe depicting the meeting of land and sky. On each metal fin is the name of a country, and all countries are represented. The sculpture sits atop a time capsule installed in 1991 that will be opened once diabetes is cured.
