Gopachal – also known as Gopagiri, Gopadiri and Gopa Parvat – literally means Gopa's (cowherd's) Achal or Giri or Parvat (mountains or hills). It is a natural, massive and historic sandstone hill in Gwalior. On it stands the Gwalior Fort, as well as several groups of Hindu and Jain monuments over its slopes and gorges along the way to the top. It includes the Siddhachal Cave temples.
