English: Heraklion Prefecture (Νομός Ηρακλείου / Nomós Irakleiou) is a former administrative unit of Crete. Since 2011 (Kallikratis program), Heraklion is one of the four regional units of Crete. The capital is the city of Heraklion. Heraklion regional unit has the same territory as the former prefecture.
