English: Herrenhausen Palace is a royal summer residence of the monarchs of the Hanover. It has a large adjoining garden, today's Herrenhäuser Gärten. It was constructed around 1819/20 by Georg Ludwig Friedrich Laves. King George II of Great Britain was born here. The palace was destroyed by aerial bombardments during the Second World War in 1943. The state government of Lower Saxony in November 2007 made public plans for reconstruction, which was completed in 2013.
