English: A hybrid line is an overhead power line, which features circuits of different power systems. Possible combinations are:
  • three-phase AC – single-phase AC (common especially in Germany and Switzerland, where standard high-voltage power lines and traction power lines share the same pylons in some line sections)
  • three-phase AC – DC (only realized at the terminal of HVDC Volgograd–Donbass on the dam of Volga Hydroelectric Station and at the HVDC Konti-Skan on 2 pylons south of Stenkullen static inverter station, and planned in Germany, see Ultranet)
  • single-phase AC – DC (theoretical case, no examples of use known)
