A hybrid line is a powerline, which carries circuits for different power systems. Possible combinations are:

  • three phase AC - single phase AC
  • three phase AC - DC
  • single phase AC - DC

Only the first combination is of importance. There are no lines where single phase AC and DC lines share the same pylon. Paralell guidance of three phase AC and DC line on the same pylon is only realized at the terminal of HVDC Volgograd-Donbass on the dam of Volga Hydroelectric Station and of HVDC Konti-Skan on 2 pylons south of Stenkullen static inverter station.
