The precipitates heaped up on the face and the inner boss of the screw. The broken ring seemingly made of steel is to keep the screw in position. It seems that both of the ring and the inner boss of the screw got cleaved by an impact which directed them forward jerkily assuming the shaft as an inertial reference frame. The direct cause of that impact is unclear. The black paint fragments sitting atop the white precipitates simply but precisly explain the origin of the precipitates.
