  • Rizal is widely considered the most prominent advocate for reforms in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era, and the greatest national hero of the Philippines.
  • He was executed by the Spanish at Bagumbayan, Luneta Park (Cavite City) in 1896 when he was 35 years old.
