English: Just intonation is tuning using intervals whose rational number ratios use whole numbers, based on the harmonic series and thus splitting the octave up so the intervals between the notes are of different sizes. Equal temperaments divide the octave up so the intervals between the notes are of the same size, most often to approximate just ratios.
