The Kahramanmaraş Ulu Mosque is one of the oldest historical buildings of the city. The building is an original work of the Dulkadiroğlu Principality, but has a later construction date. However, this date is accepted as the construction date of the restored building, due to the restoration that Dulkadirli Bey Alaüddevle had done in 1501. The Mamluk and Seljuk influence can be seen in the building located in the city square on the south side of Kahramanmaraş Castle.
