English: Kapunda was a steel steamship built by W. Gray & Co. West Hartlepool for Melbourne Steam Ship Company, Melbourne. Dimensions: 330' x 45'1" x 21'3", 3097 GRT and 1970 NRT. Movement: Triple expansion engine producing 497 nhp. As a limited capacity passenger-cargo vessel, she ran Sydney, Melbourne and several of the smaller ports to Fremantle. She was sold to Moss Steamship Co. Ltd. of Liverpool in 1915 and torpedoed and sunk 205 miles ESE off Malta by a German submarine on November 12th 1916.
