Komla Agbeli Gbedemah was

  • 1951–1952: Minister of Health in the colonial government of the Gold Coast,
  • 1952–1954: Minister for Industry and Trade in the colonial government of the Gold Coast,
  • 17th June 1954 – 6th March 1957: Minister of Finances in the colonial government of the Gold Coast and
  • 6th March 1957 – 8th May 1961: Minister of Finances of Ghana in the government of Kwame Nkrumah.

He was the Deputy Chairman of the Ghanaian CPP (Convention People's Party) from 1949 onwards and later one of the founders of the Ghanaian party NAL (National Alliance of Liberals) in 1969.
