English: Life was an American magazine published from 1883 to 2000. Initially a general interest magazine, it was purchased by Henry Luce in 1936 and became a weekly news magazine that emphasized photojournalism. Life ran weekly from 1883 to 1972, then intermittently until 1978 when it became a monthly magazine.
