English: Louis II, Prince of Monaco (12 July 1870 – 9 May 1949) was the Sovereign Prince of Monaco from 26 June 1922 until 9 May 1949. Born Louis Honoré Charles Antoine de Grimaldi, a.k.a Prince Louis of Monaco, in Baden-Baden, Germany, he was the only child of Prince Albert I of Monaco (1848 - 1922), and Lady Mary Victoria Hamilton (11 December 1850 - 14 May 1922). His mother was a daughter of en:William Hamilton, 11th Duke of Hamilton, and his wife, Princess nl:Maria van Baden (1817-1888).
