Louis Schultze (ca.1820, Berlin, Germany – 6 February 1901, St. Louis, Missouri), was a German-born artist and teacher, who came to the United States about 1850, and settled in St. Louis, Missouri. He was noted for his portraits and genre scenes, especially his posthumous portrait of Dredd Scott. Source: Obituary
