English: Lowick is a village and civil parish in the South Lakeland district of the English county of Cumbria. Until 1974 it formed part of Lancashire). The village appears in records as early as 1202 as Lofwik, and later as Laufwik: the name derives from the Old Norse "Lauf-vík" .
