English: Moldavia is a historical region, and former principality in Eastern Europe, corresponding to the territory between the Eastern Carpathians and the Dniester river. The western half of Moldavia is now part of Romania, the eastern side belongs to the Republic of Moldova, while the northern and southeastern parts are territories of Ukraine.
日本語: モルダヴィア、モルダビアは東ヨーロッパの一角を占める地域の名称である。ルーマニアの東北部、すなわちカルパティア山脈の東、プルート川の西で両者に挟まれた地域にあたり、時にはルーマニア領を越えてプルート川の東にあるドニエプル川を西限とするベッサラビア地方を含めた、さらに広い地域を指す。
