Category:Mole National Park
The Mole National Park is a today (2015) Wildlife Protected Area (WPA) of the IUCN category II in the north of Ghana. The park covers a total area of 5,198 km² (2015, still in the 1990s were its 4,840 km²) and is located in the contemporary West Gonja District and West Mamprusi District of the Northern Region as well as in the Wa East District of the Upper West Region of Ghana. The vegetation in the park area is classified as belonging to the Guinea Grass Savanna vegetation type (TGS, Tall Grass Savanna). The park was established in 1957 as Game Reserve and became the status of a National Park in 1964. The "Mole National Park Info Center" is located at:
