English: The Monte Rosa is a mountain massif located in the eastern part of the Pennine Alps, between Italy and Switzerland. Its highest peak Dufourspitze (4.634 m) is the highest mountain of Switzerland and the second highest in Western Europe. Its eastern wall, towards Italy, has a height of ca. 2.400 meters above the valley below and is the highest mountain wall in the Alps.

Deutsch: Der Monte Rosa ist ein ausgedehntes Gebirgsmassiv auf der Grenze zwischen Italien und der Schweiz im östlichen Teil der Walliser Alpen. Sein höchster Gipfel Dufourspitze (4.634 m) ist der höchste Berg der Schweiz und der zweithöchste Westeuropas. Seine Ostwand, in Richtung Italien, hat eine Höhe von ca. 2.400 Meter über dem Tal und ist damit die höchste Bergwand in den Alpen.
