English: The Nal was a four-masted steel barque, bilt 1892 as Lord Ripon by Grangemouth Dockyard Co., Alloa. She was originally owned by J. Herron & Co., Liverpool. She sold 1898 to Rhederei Visurgis AG, Bremen, and was renamed Nal. In 1914 she interned at Caleta Coloso for the duration of the war. 1921 sold to Baltische & Weissmeer Schiffahrt GmbH, Danzig. 1922 the barque sprang a leak and was abandoned off Cape Horn and sunk near Wollaton Island. The crew was saved.
Her dimensions were length × beam × depth = 318 × 43.2 × 24.5 ft (96.9 × 13.2 × 7.5 m), she had a tonnage of 2765 GRT and 2627 NRT and she was rigged with double top and topgallant sails, royals and skysails. [1][2]
