English: The Ghanaian lawyer and politician Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was born on the 29th of March, 1944 in Accra (Ghana). (He was born in the Swalaba quarter of Accra and grew up in the Nima quarter of Accra.) He visit a private school in the county of West-Sussex (England) and studied later jurisprudence at the University of Ghana. He is one of the leading persons of the Ghanaian New Patriotic Party (NPP). After the elections 2004, he was the elected representative for the constituency "Akim-Abuakwa" of the Eastern Region in the Parliament of Ghana. In the governement of President Kufuor was he "Attorney-General and Minister of Justice" (2001-2003) and "Minister of Foreign Affairs" (2005-2007) (after April 2006: "Minister for Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD)"). At the elections 2008 was Akufo-Addo candidate for the presidency, but lost to John Atta Mills as well as 2012 to John Dramani Mahama.
