Astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon on 21 July 1969, died on Saturday, 25 August 2012, aged 82. A family memorial service was held at the Camargo Club in Indian Hill near Cincinnati, Ohio, at 11am on Friday, 31 August 2012. The service was attended by Apollo 11 astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Astronauts Bill Anders, Alan Bean, Charlie Duke, Gene Cernan, Walt Cunningham, Joe Engle, John Glenn, Jim Lovell, Jim McDivitt, Dick Gordon, and Tom Stafford were also present. A full moon rose in the sky on the night of the service, being the second full moon for the month of August, 2012.
