English: Peregrine was an iron passenger steamship, built 1891 by W B Thomson & Co., Dundee for General Steam Navigation Co Ltd., London for London-Hamburg service. Her dimensions were Length: 280 ft (85.3 m). Width: 37.6 ft (11.5 m). Depth: 16.2 ft (4.9 m). and she had a tonnage of 1660 gross tons. Triple expansion engine of 450 nominal horsepower. Service speed 16 knots. In December 1891 the Peregrine purchased by W Howard Smith & Sons Ltd., Melbourne and converted for Australia service. 1906 lengthened to 97.6 m with 1980 gross tons. 1916 sold to Moller & Co., Shanghai but she was taken over by the UK Shipping Controller for War duties. The vessel was scrapped in 1922.
