Physically separated bikeways are separated from pedestrians / motor vehicles via a solid form of separation, such as landscaping, kerbs, fences, barriers, or a distinct line of physical features such as bollards. Compare Category:Cycle lanes, which do not provide physical barriers to the road, and Category:Shared bikeways, which exclude other users, but are separated only by paint markings or different colouring/materials.
