English: The 1984 Indy 500 Pace car was the Pontiac Fiero. This was the shortest ever pace car as well as the only mid-engined one and one of only a very few four-cylinder cars used thusly. The replica, of which 2000 were made, had the venerable Iron Duke 2.5-liter engine with 92hp, whereas the actual pace car had a bored out 2.7-liter unit with 232hp.
