The port waters of the Port of Melbourne include the Yarra River downstream of Bolte Bridge, including Williamstown Channel and the Maribyrnong River downstream of Shepherd Bridge. Victoria Harbour is not included, but historically was a main part of the port. It also includes much of the centre waters of Port Philip Bay and a small area just outside the heads. The Port of Geelong is separate. (From Port of Melbourne Operations Handbook).
