The two predominant religions in the Fujian Province of China are Taoism and Bhuddism. Over thousands of native gods and goddesses have been integrated into Taoism in Fujian. Christianity, including Protestantism and Roman Catholicism, also has a very significant presence in Fujian. Islam was brought to Fujian in the 7th century (Tang Dynasty) and was prosperous in the 13th to 14th century (Yuan Dynasty), but at present, it is comparatively less significant.
