Religious fundamentalism refers to the views of any person, organization or institution which endorses a strictly literal translation of religious texts, has absolutist views, and demands firm and total submission to the religion. Religious fundamentalists usually are opposed to religious pluralism. Some religious fundamentalists have promoted their cause through violence.
