English: The River Tyne is a river in England. It is formed by the confluence of two rivers, the North Tyne and the South Tyne. The South Tyne rises on Alston Moor, Cumbria. The North Tyne rises on the Scottish border, north of Kielder Water. These two rivers converge at Acomb in Northumberland. The combined river flows through the Tyneside conurbation and forms the border between Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead. It meets the sea at Tynemouth and South Shields.
