English: The Rosshafen (as well as Rossweg, Rossdamm, and Rosskanal) in the Port of Hamburg is named after the Ross family formerly owning a farmstead located on the Elbe river island Ross (Germ.: der Ross; now mostly transformed into port basins, canals and harbour piers, its southerly -rest merged with Neuhof island, but unlike the latter politically belonging to Hamburg-Steinwerder), with der Ross island also named after the same family.
