English: Santa Anita Assembly Center — located at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California, for compulsory Japanese American internment processing in Los Angeles County in 1942. It was the longest occupied assembly center (215 days), which housed a total of 19,348 people from the counties of San Francisco, Santa Clara, Los Angeles and San Diego, California, and some from Honolulu County, Hawaii. From here, the internees were eventually sent to the Manzanar, Jerome, Rohwer and Heart Mountain War Relocation Centers.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]
