Siege of Balk (1370). Attack of Timur against Amir Husayn at Balkh. After crossing the Amu Darya River at Termez, his army surrounded the rebuilt city. Husayn's army sallied forth from the city to attack Timur's men. The same thing happened on the second day of the battle, but Timur's men managed to enter the city. Husayn barricaded himself inside the citadel, allowing Timur's men to plunder the city.
