English: Thomas Cadell (1742-1802), British book dealer and printer, one of the leading booksellers in London during his time. In 1758, became an apprentice to Andrew Millar (1705-1768); entered in partnership with Millar in 1765, and became the sole owner in 1767. Succeeded by the firm of T. Cadell & W. Davies, consisting of his son Thomas Cadell Jr. (1773-1836) and William Davies (d. 1820).
