English: The Timothy Hackworth Museum was a railway museum in Shildon, County Durham, centred on Soho Cottage 54°37′37.79″N 1°38′30.06″W / 54.6271639°N 1.6416833°W / 54.6271639; -1.6416833, the former home steam locomotive engineer Timothy Hackworth, as well as associated buildings nearby, including the nearby Soho Works 54°37′35.53″N 1°38′25.95″W / 54.6265361°N 1.6405417°W / 54.6265361; -1.6405417 he established. Steam engines were were run along a track out of Shildon goods shed 54°37′35.49″N 1°38′29.24″W / 54.626525°N 1.6414556°W / 54.626525; -1.6414556. It was opened on Thursday 17 July 1975 by Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, who arrived by Royal Train. After closure for refurbishment, it reopened in 2004 having been incorporated into the new Locomotion railway museum, a satellite site of the National Railway Museum in York. Along with the existing buildings, the new museum consisted of a new Collection hall 54°37′26.48″N 1°37′47.54″W / 54.6240222°N 1.6298722°W / 54.6240222; -1.6298722 to the east, and runs trains along the same track between there and the goods shed.
