English: The triple-twin was a type of double triode for audio power amplifiers introduced in 1932. The input and output triodes were directly connected inside the tube. The output tube operated at heavy grid current, and the input tube was configured as cathode follower to supply this current. Later versions (the 1936 Sylvania 6N6G) even contained the cathode follower's resistor inside the envelope. The name triple-twin emerged as marketing hype: "three times more power than type 45, two times more power than type 47...". It didn't work quite well, and the idea died out in late 1930s.
Русский: Комбинированные лампы triple-twin для УНЧ состояли из мощного выходного триода, работавшего с токами сетки, и входного триода, включаемого по схеме катодного повторителя. Катод входной лампы соединялся с сеткой выходной прямо в баллоне. В лампах 6N6 в баллоне монтировали и резистор катодного повторителя. Идея не прижилась, и во второй половине 1930-х эта ветвь триодов угасла.
