Main Wikipedia article: U.S. Route 6 in Utah

From 1910 to 1977, the (nearly) current corridor of U.S. Route 6 east from Spanish Fork/Springville in Utah was designated by the Utah State Legislature as State Route 8. In 1977, State Route 8 designation was deleted from the state highway system and the entire U.S. Route 6 in Utah was designated as Utah State Route 6. In 1991 the State Route 8 designation was applied to a corridor within St. George.
