Uranium enrichment refers to the physical separation of isotopes of uranium-235 from the greater mass of uranium-238. Nuclear reactors often use uranium enriched to 5% uranium-235, while nuclear weapons require uranium enriched to around 90% uranium-235.

ウラン濃縮はウラン235を大部分がウラン238の天然ウランや低濃縮ウランから濃縮する工程で原子力発電では5%のウラン235で、核兵器ではおよそ90%の高濃度のウラン235が必要とされる。
