Video Cassette Recording (VCR, also known informally as N1500) is a video cassette format invented by Philips in the early-1970s. Variants of the format include VCR-SP (like Philips N1500) and VCR-LP (like Philips N1700). A derived variant SVR (Super Video Recording) was developed by Grundig around 1980.
