On November 14, 1967, en:Marshall Space Flight Center director en:Wernher von Braun visited the en:Neutral Buoyancy Simulator and took a dive in a space suit. While underwater, he reviewed the S-IVB Aft Dome hardware and installed penetration seals. The next day, astronauts en:Gordon Cooper, en:Jack Lousma, and en:Bruce McCandless performed the same task in scuba gear. When informed of this, von Braun commented, "Misleading! With scuba gear it is a cinch. The pressurized suit is what makes it difficult!"[1]
