Proposed move[edit]

  • Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose - Category names are supposed to be the terms used in English as per COM:CAT. While many seem to have adopted the term "Ancienne-Douane" to refer to this building in English, the term "Ancien édifice de la Douane-de-Montréal" is simply not English or meaningfully used in English. Even the punctuation is inconsistent with English usage (as it is in the existing name - it should actually be Ancienne Douane Building, Montreal). The CRHP actually calls it the "Former Montréal Custom House National Historic Site of Canada".--Skeezix1000 (talk) 14:02, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
Fair enough. But one sees it referred to all the time as "Ancienne Douane" on the web in English. The word building should not be capitalized though, as it makes it sound as though that word is also part of the name rather than a descriptor. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 20:46, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
