.

Echinopsis eyriesii and Echinopsis oxygona are regarded as versions of the same species in newer taxonomy. However I made the mistake following a reference that has choosen the wrong name. In botany the oldest name has priority... and that is E. oxygona... by a month, but still.

Synonyms or not[edit]

Hi,
E. eyriesii and E. oxygona are not true synonyms.
See for example : http://www.cactiguide.com/cactus/?genus=Echinopsis&species=eyriesii
And E. eyriesii is yet distinct on Wikiwpecies and the wikipedia's from several languages (fr, de, es, en...). --Tangopaso (talk) 09:52, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
