  • Symbol support vote.svg Support as nominator - I see no reason why a country of about 4.6 million people should have a category name which looks like it may refer to a state with about 9.7 million. Note that the category on English Wikipedia is Georgia (country), not Georgia. Od Mishehu (talk) 08:44, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

  • It is true that on Commons, we have no formal notion of primary interest or priority, so normally Georgia should be disambiguated. The fact that the one is richer, has more surface, economy or people is not relevant on Commons: the priority is culture dependent and depends very much of the origin of the user. There is however an unfortunate de facto rule that gives priority of countries over lower level states or cities (Georgia), national symbols (Statue of liberty, Dollar) and capitals with a long history (London, Paris, Rome, Cologne, Florence, ...). Note that the article itself is en:Category:Georgia. While I feel we should minimize such cultural "prioritisation", at the country level, I Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose. --Foroa (talk) 19:02, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
