Move request[edit]

"People associated with video games" is preferable because:

  • "People in the video game industry" introduces a new term "Video game industry", even though the parent categories do not use it. The best way of creating new container categories is to use as few new terms as possible, and to stick as closely as possible to the parent cats.
  • "People associated with video games" fits the "Category:People by association" category syntax, while "People in the video games industry" does not fit the "Category:People by occupation" syntax.
  • "People associated with video games" is wider, for example it could also include the "people playing video games" subcat. This new category name is unnecessarily restrictive.

In short, no offense to the person who changed my rename request, but it should really be "People associated with video games". Ingolfson (talk) 23:47, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

I personally prefer matching en.wikipedia: en:Category:People in the video game industry. If they change, maybe we should, if they dont, maybe we should'nt. I anyway dont care about vocabulary, but there is no reason to mismatch en.wikipedia in a "global" category like that. ~ bayo or talk 18:17, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
